Abstract: This report synthesises findings from 12 peer-reviewed papers addressing the following research question: What is the impact of manifold regularization on zero-shot cross-lingual retrieval accuracy for low-resource languages within the BEIR evaluation suite. Zero-shot evaluation of information retrieval (IR) models is often performed using BEIR; a large and heterogeneous benchmark composed of multiple datasets, covering different retrieval tasks across various domains. Although BEIR has become a standard benchmark for the zero-shot. 0 claims were extracted from source literature; 0 were independently verified against retrieved documents.
