Abstract: This report synthesises findings from 15 peer-reviewed papers addressing the following research question: How does the integration of private contextual data affect the retrieval performance of dense models on public benchmarks like BEIR, when evaluated using recall@100 and MRR, and what trade-offs exist. 10 claims were extracted from source literature; 10 were independently verified against retrieved documents.
